about Dr Mirun Thayaparan
After completing his medical degree in 2011, Dr. Thayaparan worked extensively in hospitals across NSW, SA, and NT, gaining valuable experience and skills in orthopaedics practice. He is now recognized as a leading orthopaedic surgeon, particularly in Brisbane, where he has honed his expertise. In 2025, Dr. Thayaparan achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (FRACS (Orth)) and the Australian Orthopaedics Association (FAOrthA). Eager to enhance his skills further, he completed a fellowship in robotic hip and knee arthroplasty at Prince Charles Hospital and St. Vincents Northside in Brisbane. He also distinguished himself as the inaugural Brisbane Foot and Ankle Fellow and recently completed a Graduate Certificate of Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Newcastle in 2023 with Distinction. In his spare time, Dr. Thayaparan enjoys spending time with his family and is fortunate to be the father of two boys. He stays up to date with technology, incorporating the latest advancements into his surgical practice. Additionally, he is committed to training the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons and holds clinical associate lecturer positions with Adelaide University and Flinders University. His practice is always evolving, and exciting developments are coming soon as he continues to contribute to the field, with projects currently under construction.
